Vedic Art Academy

The AAVA Vedic Art Academy is a private art school. The teaching at AAVA is based on the seventeen Vedic Principles of Art developed by Swedish artist Curt Källman.

In the Vedic Art painting process the human consciousness becomes one with the finest levels of the higher consciousness of nature.Creativity arises from this level, becoming visible in art and in life. One can also transfer the creative consciousness learnt in the process of painting into the use of other artistic materials and tools.

Curt Källman, founder of Vedic Art:
”The seventeen Vedic Principles of Art can be used as a navigation map on our journey along the river of the history of art.

We start from a point of silence and one day we reach the ocean of boundless dynamic creativity inside ourselves.

To study Vedic Art is to study one’s personal self in relationship with the great cosmic self.

Our inner driving force sets us in motion and guides us step by step into seeing how nature works.

We begin to remember how to express ourselves from within, and we delve deeper into the creative process. This leads into expansion on all levels, both in art and in our lives. In Vedic Art it is not necessary to teach anyone how to paint – instead it is the way to remember how it happens.”

Vedic Art is neither an ‘ism’ or style, nor a religion, ideology or philosophy. Rather, it is about the universal laws. At its simplest, Vedic Art means consciousness expressed in art. The individual experiences it as a state of creative being. Through Vedic Art, we learn to use limits to reach unlimited creativity.

AAVA is suitable for all

Studies at AAVA are open to all who are interested. Whether or not you have previous experience in painting makes no difference. Vedic Art is suitable further training for professionals in the creative arts, while for amateurs it can become a way of life, and for anyone an alternative route to studying visual arts.

Currently the AAVA school is located in Helsinki. Originally the school was founded 2006 in Lahti. The school will offer both full-time studies and short, intensive courses, also for foreign students. The main language of tuition at the AAVA school is Finnish, and on the international courses English and/or German.

The teaching consists of courses and does not lead into a degree. It is characteristic of Vedic Art training that it is continuous and its duration cannot be defined in years.
